Carrying a printed colorful booklet, the children play an educational game in the Louvre.
They follow the steps of the archaeologists, solving mysteries in the Louvre by discovering the famous masterpieces and observing the details hidden in the best Art pieces exposed in the museum.
Their answers will be the clues to lead them to find more clues.
The last step is finding the Treasure : Many small gifts and souvenirs from Paris to remember positively their visit of the Louvre.
The accredited tour guide will help the family navigate the museum, answer the children questions about Art and History and will orient them to find more clues.
The parents can enjoy the remarkable stories behind each Masterpiece as you navigate comfortably the museum with their children.
This guided tour is best for families with children aged between 3 to 12.
We have two versions of the game. The trail is the same in case we have a family with children from different ages. But the games are different to adapt their ages.
Our guides are perfectly capable of guiding a family with both ages : 3 to 6 and 7 to 12.
No iPads / No Phones / No electronics
We believe that children learn better with direct human interaction. We think it is better to learn how to navigate a museum using a printed map or an individual printed booklet, in the company of their expert tour guide, without exposing their fragile eyes to screens or using other electronic distractions.
All the annexed images are printed. The children fill the answers directly on the booklets using markers and pens provided by the private tour guide.
Age 3 to 6 : Activity Booklet + Puzzles. Writing or reading are not required. The games are more manual. Puzzle, Building blocks, stickers, seek and find...
Age 7 to 12 : Treasure hunt booklet + Clue Cards. Writing and reading are required. The games are more cerebral.

The treasure hunt for kids in the Louvre is a complete guided tour service.
The kid-friendly guide is a professional state-licensed Guide-Conférencier. The state-license of the tour guide is a special professional card, a permit to guide in the Louvre, obtained after passing an oral and a written exam about Western Art History in front of an official jury in Paris, supervised by the Ministry of Culture to guarantee the accuracy of the information and the high quality of the tour for the visitors of France.
After years of studies at the Sorbonne university, with a training and a documented proof of at least 900 hours of work experience as a guide, the tour guide can ask to get his permit.
The card is a right to speak, a permit to guide a group in the Louvre, and for your family, this means that the guide can make you skip the line with your regular tickets.

Flora designed the colorful booklet after a decade of experience guiding at the Louvre Museum, almost everyday.
The booklet will help the children solve riddles and learn about the most important teachings from each Masterpiece.
The booklets are different depending on the ages, they are printed
- on 17 pages for the little ones (3 to 6)
- on 33 pages for children 7 - 12.
Each page has a small enigma, a question, a mystery to solve. At the end, the answers will help find the treasure.
The guide will of course help the children decipher and solve the enigmas.
Each child will have his own booklet, his own marker pen to fill the answers and can work with his siblings.
The guide will let you have some time and space to answer the question on your own, then she helps you get the right answer. She will fill you in with more stories and make the transition to the next piece.
The Treasure is made of small gifts for the children, adapted to their individual ages. They will discover the surprise at the end of the tour when they get the final clues and they solve the last riddle.
The gifts and souvenirs are picked by Flora before each tour : everything is from Paris and it will relate to their Paris trip and to the Louvre tour.

I am Flora. I am 33. I am a state-licensed tour guide.
I am French, born and raised in Paris historical center.
I majored in Art and History from Sorbonne Paris 3.
I must confess that my mother was a tour guide for more than two decades so I grew up learning about Paris, culture, art, history and museums since a very young age.
As a daughter of a tour guide, a mother of two girls and a professional tour guide, my passion is to transmit my knowledge of my city to children and to offer a memorable moment for your family in Paris.
I couldn't think of a better way of living my life than organizing guided tours in Paris for my visitors. I started giving tours of Paris at a very young age for English speaking visitors.
I truly believe that, today, it is important to transmit this knowledge, through story telling and fun games, to teach pupils why Art is vital, how to appreciate Art and learn why History is amazing.
I am ready to help you by email or by phone.
Best regards,
Flora
I have worked as an educator and researcher at various cultural organisations and museums in France, Ireland and the UK - including the Louvre, Orleans House Gallery and the Arts Service of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, where I managed a dynamic team of educators and designed educational programs for a wide range of age groups and backgrounds.
I currently lectures in Museum Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle.
Although work and studies have taken me away from Paris for brief stints, I am always drawn back to this city.
I hold qualifications in Art History from University College Dublin and La Sorbonne.
My masters research focused on how Egyptian themes were used as propaganda in the public art of Napoleonic Paris.
I have a deep passion for storytelling and so stories are central to the way I talk about history. One thing my research highlighted is that art, architecture and historical events don’t happen in a vacuum and it is only when you start looking at them in context that they really come to life.
Kind regards,
Emma
We collaborate with Mélanie, a seasoned Parisian tour guide with a Master's degree in History of Art from the esteemed Grande École du Louvre.
Her deep comprehension of history is expertly woven into her narratives, making them as educational as they are captivating.
Young ones are never left out on Mélanie's tours!
Her kindness and vivid narratives, full of amazing stories from Greco-Roman mythology and the legends of the French and American world, keep children entertained and focused throughout the Family tour.
She can also facilitate our treasure hunt throughout the Louvre, a favorite among children.
Apart from her work as a guide, Mélanie is an accomplished flutist who plays in several amateur symphonic orchestras in Paris. HerJazz band often performs at family events, adding another facet to her engagement with her city's cultural scene.
We collaborate with Iuliana, a kid-frienldy tour guide.
Besides from being an excellent tour guide, Iuliana gives tours to kids from the National Schools coming to visit Paris. She brings school groups (pupils from 6 to 12) to the Louvre and Versailles to teach them about Art History and France History.
She began her career at two of France's leading universities, Université Panthéon Sorbonne and Université Paris X Nanterre. At Sorbonne, she studied the history of art and archaeology, before pursuing her professional training and official license as a guide-conférencier. Her academic grounding provides a firm foundation for her tours, offering clients rich insights into the art, architecture, and history of Paris.
The cornerstone of Iuliana's tours lies in her deep passion for the storied city of Paris, its art, history, culture, and the vibrant lives of its people.
Her storytelling style is deeply felt, making her tours an immersive and enriching experience that transports her guests right into the heart of the Louvre and the amazing human beings who made the Louvre what it is today.
With her comprehensive knowledge and flair for storytelling, she is able to simplify complex histories and facts, making history come alive. This makes her an especially good option for families with young children.
