We can guide you through the stunning artwork and artifacts from Mesopotamia to Ancient Egypt on display at the Louvre.
This is a topic of perennial interest for people. Going back many millennia, these civilizations thrived on the banks of the Tigris and the Nile — building monuments filled with art that is at times mysterious and always magnificent.
We will give you the historic, cultural, and mythological insights you need to fully appreciate the wonders you’ll see before you at the Louvre.
Ancient Egypt was one of the most spiritually potent societies to ever exist, and their artwork still hums with profound insight and wisdom, to be able to see these things while getting the full context makes them come alive like never before.

Emma or Flora can also guide you through the many special temporary exhibits on display in Paris at any given time.
These temporary exhibits run a wide range of topics, but they all have one thing in common — the curators at the world’s greatest art museum want to feature them.
These events expand the Louvre’s already gargantuan offering of artwork, giving specific glimpses into deeper stories waiting to be discovered by you in the halls of the museum.
While the Jewish Louvre Tour highlights all the artifacts from the kingdom of Israel, as well as the many recovered pieces that were partially destroyed during World War II.
You can also enjoy an Arabic Arts detour in the Louvre where you can see many beautiful artifacts, art works of Calligraphy, paintings and decorative, mysterious objects, made by Andalusian to Iranian artists and scientists, between 700 to 1800.
Some of these scientists & artists lived side by side with the Jewish Artists and influenced the Italian Renaissance Masters with their discoveries during the Golden age.
This is my specialty!
This tour highlights the special accomplishments by Jewish artists in the Louvre — an important history that continues to grow every year. It also takes special care to focus on the artifacts that describe the history of Israel — some dating to over 3000 years old!
We will also look at the art donated by Jewish families. These works form a major contribution to French culture. All of this will be contextualized by the story of the Jewish people in French society, as well as the current lives and experiences of Jews in the country today.
This special tour is a powerful story that includes the triumph and heartbreak of Jewish history that spans continents and centuries.
Let's dive into the intimate life of Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt.
On this tour, you will get a deep understanding of these societies and all that their people held important.
Learn about everything from their religious practices to the food people ate. It’s built around the excellent selection of artifacts from these places that the Louvre boasts.
That means you’ll get to be up close and personal with actual artifacts while learning about the laws, history, leaders, medical practices, daily routines, and beliefs of these societies.
It is a fun way to not only get information but have it directly tied into the fascinating works of art you see before you.
This kind of information helps connect to the humanity of these people who lived so long ago, in civilizations so different from ours. But what emerges is an understanding of our shared experience, as well as the diversity that makes things so interesting!
The Galerie Médicis is a special presentation at the Louvre that displays a series of paintings by Peter Paul Rubens, each one depicting the life of Marie de’ Medici (1575 - 1642).
The immersive room gives you a sweeping view of the life of a queen.
King Henry IV of France married the wealthy Marie and they had a son, Louis XIII. When Henry IV died, their son was still too young to rule, giving Marie power as Regent — effectively making her the ruler of France until her son matured. But when her son reached the age of majority in 1614, she kept her power, eventually being driven out by a coup three years later.
This exciting life of one of the wealthiest and most powerful women in European history is rendered in beautiful detail by none other than Rubens, a leading artist in the Flemish Baroque style.
Gathered altogether, these works make for a moving and affecting art experience, the kind you can only get at the Louvre.
Few (if any) people have left as big of a footprint on the history of France as Napoleon.
And while much of that influence came in the form of new republics preventing a leader like Napoleon from ever taking power again, there are also many important achievements he accomplished as Emperor.
The Louvre provides a great opportunity to learn this history. Through the wealth of artwork made about him, to the contributions he directly made to the development of the museum, to the historical context of his rise depicted in paintings — the life of Napoleon is all here.
Throughout the centuries, interest in this leader has not diminished. If anything, his legend is more alive than ever before. We continue to be captivated by him, and getting to see his life this way is as close as you can ever get to meeting the man himself. Discover the fantastic drama and legendary personality of the Emperor of France with one of our specialty tours at the Louvre.

The temporary exhibition encompasses nearly 130 works and invites visitors to embark on a journey to the crossroad of Civilizations in the Uzbekistan’s Oases. Although the crowds and the small space, the Louvre helped me discover something new.
The two curators : Yannick Lintz , Art Historian from Musée Guimet (Antiquities from India, China..) and the french archeologist Rocco Rante , expert with the Islamic arts dept of the Louvre succeeded to borrow many treasures to shed light on why this far-flung dry region near China and India fascinated Alexander the Great and the caliphs of Baghdad.
This hotspot of exchange and cultural flourishing provided a forum where Western and Eastern civilisations could dialogue and mingle harmoniously.

The artist frequently returned to works celebrating nature throughout his career. It served as both a source of comfort for him as well as the perfect challenge for his talents. The intricate nature scenes he painted pushed him to his absolute limits, and they survive today as a testament to an artist and his ultimate subject.

60 years ago, Yves Saint Laurent released his first collection of haute couture fashion. To celebrate this enormous milestone, the Louvre is participating in a multi-museum event, showing off historic elements of the fashion house’s collection. The garments on display are sumptuous examples of French design and fashion. The clothing selection will be shown in one of the Louvre’s most important spaces, the Galerie d’Apollon. As a supporter of museums and art lover himself, this is a fitting tribute to the life and work of Yves Saint Laurent.
